I might be crazy but…

If you want to have any idea of what this post is about, please listen to the most recent episode of NSFWshow. We held our second annual Summer Movie Fantasy League Draft where we sold all the movies off auction style. You can see the results here.

Let’s say that Thor splits the difference between The Incredible Hulk ($150 million) and Iron Man ($300 million) at $225 million.

Kung Fu Panda 2 does better than the original ($215 million) on the basis of a 3D ticket price hike ALONE and settles at $275? By the way, the original Panda was the highest grossing NON-SEQUEL in Dreamworks history. Everything points to this being way bigger.

Super 8 is hailed as the filet of the summer season AND it’s a flick you can bring the whole family too since it’s about kids and makes $300.

Then the Darkest Hour makes $10 million because Emile Hersh is a dreamboat.

That puts me at $810 million. Last year, with eight (!!!) movies, riding a string of base hits, lucking out with a rare female-driven comedy franchise (Sex and the City 2) and catching a major wave with Inception, Brian won the first Summer Movie Fantasy League with $839 million. There was also one less person in the game. And Brian has one less movie this year. And two of them are comedies opening on the same night.

Bottom line… I like my odds.
